STUDIO LISA SMITH

S

ROSE SYNACTIF

Client: Clé de Peau/ Shiseido, Japan
Design: Lisa Smith and Damian O’Sullivan in collaboration with Benoit-Pierre Emery and Mao Komai
Year: 2012

Designed to fit in the existing Synergique cosmetic range of Clé de Peau.
The rare black rose fragrance was the point of departure. It is the result of an extensive form study in thicknesses of glass and the transparency of resin. Therefore, experimenting with the refraction and reflection of light through these materials and through the contained liquid, as well as different types of vaporizing techniques and varying styles from classical to futuristic. In the final solution, the black rose petal became encapsulated in the lid as if frozen in time.
